Last Friday The New York Times published an article claiming that Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano now “disavows” and “renounce[s]” his seminal 1971 book Las venas abiertas de América Latina (Open Veins of Latin America). The Times‘s article may have made for a good headline, but it was terrible journalism.
